I went to Manila Philippines to fish with my friend Kit Belen, we were going to fish for Tread Fish in the bay of Manila. The trip would have been fine, but I got sick from the air in Cebu, and to top it off I was going to Manila Philippines that has worst city air. The first night we went to meet a mutual friend, Earl Hamilton who is a world class fisherman and a proud owner of the DNA fly tying materials. Kit, Earl and I talked for hours about fishing, fly tying, rod designs, rod building and everything else that three fishheads can talk about. It turned out that the weather was not in our favor and we had to cancel the fishing trip.I was not feeling good the whole time I was there and had to rest I stayed at Earl's house for the duration of the trip, but I was so sick that I slept for two and half day straight, no kidding! I know my body and I knew that if I slept for a long time I would feel better, which work, no meds. needed. When I woke up from my sleep and feeling better it was Christmas eve, and dinner was ready to be served! This is what i saw when I woke up!
Thanks Earl for hosting me and the food was second to none!

Beer from the Philippines!
There is only one company that brews beer here, that is San Miguel Brewery. The beer is ok, but they only brew pilsen type beers, yes it is cheap for a liter bottle. If you want something stronger and will get you drunk faster you get Red Horse beer, that is also brewed by San Miguel.
I am bless to live in the great state of Wisconsin USA, where there are many Micro Brewery's, so on any give day or season, you can have a HUGE selection of beers to choose from. I miss the beer at home and can't wait to get back home to have one of my local beers poured into a glass. I also miss cheese too! lol
This post is for all my beer drinking friends that love good beer and good company!

Hair cut in the Philippines.
I love to get my hair cut here in the Philippines, first of all it's only 1.00 usd and you get a five minute neck massage with it. Chelsea live in Tugerarao Luzon, and this barber shop is next to her apartment. We befriend one of the barbers name Rose. I told him that I would get my hair cut before I left Tugeraro.

Santa Ana, Luzon Philippines.
On of my goals this trip was to go to the very northern part of the Philippines, Santa Ana, Luzon sits on the very tip of the Philippines. I went to visit a friend of mine who is working or the Peace Corp. Her name is Chelsea, she have been working at her post for three months. She works with DSDW, for a woman's shelter. She does wonderful things for this country and need to get away from the city, like most of us do when we need have a "get away". We went to this resort called Jotay, it's own by a British man and his wife who is Filipino. It is a small place with 17 rooms next to the Pacific Ocean. The weather is on the average 5-10 degrees color so it was nice to get out of the heat and be next to the sea breeze.
We spent three nights four days there, the resort owner came to our table the first night we where there and greeted us. His name was Trevor, and told us that is going to give us a discount on our room because Chelsea was in the Peace Corp. What a way to start the trip! We took a boat trip to this light house that was settle by the Spanish. The boat trip was about 40 minutes to get to the lighthouse. We had to hike up to the lighthouse to see the view.
The view was awesome, and their was no one else there. After the hike to the lighthouse we went to the beach and soaked up the sun and went swimming. I would recommend this trip to anyone that comes to the Philippines and to stay at the Jotay Resort.
Enjoy the view from the top of the Philippines.
