I am getting ready to travel for three months to the Philippines. I booked my flight to Cebu City six months ahead of time. Plenty of time to gear up and pack. I ordered two new Patagonia luggage to carry all my gear. With six months to plan it took the stress out of "quick packing". Now it is time to put all the pieces together. I have traveled over seas before, thus packing is like a big puzzle. I will be checking two piece luggage, (up to 50lbs each) and one carry-on and backpack. The large luggage will carry all my camping gear, I will keep my camping gear simple. Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mattress, head lamp, tarp, camping dishes, water bottle with filter, bug spray. The other check- in luggage will carry my clothes, light fly fishing gear, rods, one box of flies, tippet and saltwater pliers.
My carry on will be, laptop, Ipad, Iphone, Ipod and Camera gear. I will also keep a change of clothes and some toiletries. Passport will go into a neck wallet with my airline information. For my in flight cozy sleeping gear will be a foam neck pillow, Buff, Ipod, travel blanket, spray bottle for the face, chap stick, mint cream to put under my nose, and bottled water. The idea is to keep hydrated while I will be on the plane for 14 hours.
When you make time to pack, you can pack with a plan! Just hope all the zippers will close when all the gear is in!
